          GCSE Results – Recent email message for year 11 students

          Posted on: 15/07/2020

          Dear Year 11

          As we reach the end of this term we are all reflecting on what a strange time it has been. I very much hope your and your families have all been safe and well.

          This is not the end of term that we hoped for of course, and we are missing being able to say goodbye to you properly.

          I know that many of you have questions about your GCSE Results Day. I will try to explain a few key things about it below.

          20th August 2020

          Firstly, we would very much like for you to have the chance to go through the rite of passage of coming to collect and then open your results with your friends. However, safety is our main priority so we have had to make some changes to the way we carry this out.

          On 20th August 2020 we invite you to come to school to collect your GCSE Results at  these times

          11.1 = 9am, 11.2 = 9: 30am, 11.3 = 10am, 11.4 = 10: 30am, 11.5 = 11am, 11.6  = 11: 30am.

          Please come to the Hawarden Road entrance. Only students may attend. We will have some gazebos set up in the playground for you to collect your results from (while maintaining social distancing).

          Staff will be available for you to talk to about your results and celebrate with you.

          Results will be emailed out to your school email address at 12: 30pm on 20th August in case you are not able to come to collect them in person. If you do not have your login please let us know as soon as possible.

          Next Steps

          Colleges/Sixth Forms: We know you have made positive plans for the next steps in your education. However, we know that sometimes your plans will change. Attached to this email is a list of colleges and other providers along with information about applications and closing dates to help you with this.

          Exam Grades: You may have some queries or concerns about your grades. Staff will try to answer any questions for you on results day, but if they are not able to then we will ask you to leave your name and phone number with us and I will be in touch over the next few days.

          Autumn Exam Series: There will be a full set of GCSE exams running in November 2020 and you are entitled to be entered for them if you wish. If you are considering taking these exams then please let me know by Friday September 4th. There is likely to be a cost associated with the entries.

          It has been a real pleasure working with all of you over the last 5 years and I am really looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on August 20th. Have a fantastic (and safe) summer break.

          Kind regards
          Rebecca Linden
