          Year 10 Update

          Posted on: 28/05/2020

          Dear Year 10 Students

We very much hope you have all been keeping safe, well and happy. We are missing you a great deal!

I know the staff who speak to you really enjoy catching up with you and hearing what you have been doing.

I am writing to you today about the next steps for you at school. As you may have heard in the news it is now possible for us to start to have some more regular face to face contact with you. Sadly this does not mean that we can fully reopen and have you all back in as normal, much as we would love to!

Instead what will happen is that you will be given a meeting time to come into school. At that meeting you will sit with one teacher and talk through how you are, how your learning at home has been going, any areas of learning you need support or advice with and anything else you want to talk about. We will also show you how to access some careers activities online.

The meetings will take place from Wednesday 3rd June and we will be in touch very soon to tell you your specific meeting time. Please check your emails regularly.

Obviously, keeping everybody safe and healthy is the most important thing so these meetings will be held outside in specially constructed gazebos with social distancing in place so as to minimise any risk of spreading the virus. You will not need to enter the school building. When you arrive for your meeting you should come in through the Hawarden Road entrance and then you will be directed where to go. Please arrive on time (but not early) for your meeting.

You do not need to bring anything with you to the meeting, and it is only a meeting for you (not your family). If your parents want to discuss anything with us then we can do that over the phone.

This is a small step to getting you back with us at school. We are very very much looking forward to seeing you – Willowfield is not the same without you!

          Take care

          Ms Linden
